I had a class this week for a few brides-to-be and their wedding parties. Sarah is letting me show off her wedding stationary! It's so pretty! Sarah and Lisa and I designed this wedding invitation, thank you card and save-the-date postcard. The postcard doesn't open - it's just printed on the opposite side with the details of the 2010 wedding so out of town guests can reserve time off work well ahead of time.
To make this beautiful invitation we used a base of Sahara Sand card stock, an accent strip 2" wide that is made from Soft Suede, plus black and white card stock. Sarah had purchased a specific font for her wedding stationary so we printed the wording onto the White card stock instead of stamping it. I love this idea because the actual wording of the invitation match perfectly. In August, Sarah and Lisa are coming over again and we're going to work on their wedding programs, favours, and guest book.
You'll notice that we did a lot of dry embossing on the invitations. I used the Big Shot and the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder to make the impressions on the card stock. Without this embossing the card stock would have been flat - but I think that the swirls and petals MAKE this invitation and I love it. The best thing that Sarah loved about the invitation is that it matches everything for her wedding. She took a sample of the Sahara Sand paper to her wedding coordinator and all of her chair covers and table linens will be this colour - and her bridesmaid dresses all have a sash that matches the Soft Suede colour - the match is just so perfect and everything is going to coordinate so well.
