His "slap chop" Valentine's Day Card (a PG14 card)

Well, he finally got me the slap chop that I was asking for, so I was very excited!!!  So I have to tell you a little bit about my hubby in order to understand his idea behind this card.  First - he thinks that infomercials are hilarious - and something even better than infomercials are parodies of infomercials.  Truly, to grasp his sense of humour, you have to see a few of his favourite infomercial parodies.  Just click the three links below, it will take about 4 minutes to view them, but it's worth it just for the laughs:

Parody of the "snuggie" blanket infomercial on Youtube

Parody of the "Scrubbing bubbles" commercial on Youtube

Parody of the "Slap chop" infomercial on Youtube

So this is the card, above, that he made me for Valentines Day.  I knew when he was making it, a few nights ago, and all I could hear from the studio was laughing for about 45 minutes.  So the outside of the card looks nice.  He did two layers which is a really big for him - he never does this!  Now, I do have him convinced to make me cards rather than buying them (they're so damn expensive).  We do have everything here needed for a card, so he makes them.  I love that.  So I was very impressed with the 2 layers...

But when I opened it... Oh... My.... Gosh!
(remember, rated PG14!)

If you have kids, turn them away from the screen....

So on the outside of the card he wrote "All I have to say on Valentine's Day is...."

Then I opened it...

This is what was inside.    It says "You're going to love my nuts!"

AAAHHHH!!!!   Now don't forget to leave the card genius a comment because he'll get a kick out of reading them!

Now, I can't forget to post another one of my Olympic scrapbook pages.  I am having so much fun making these - and it's great to see how many Medals Canada is winning!  Go Team Canada!  We won another Silver yesterday in snowboarding - yeah!  Thanks for stopping by - Have a wonderful day!

Y'know what....you put a warning in there to not scroll down near kids. It's a joke. If they don't like it, they don't have to laugh :)
I think it's hilarious he went to all that effort, and pretty creative, too! And I think it's your blog and you'll laugh if you want to :)

Too funny! Hey, I'm impressed that your husband actually made you a card! Thanks for the giggle!

Brilliant idea! I will show this to my DH; he hasn't shown any desire to make cards so far but just maybe something like this could change his mind. I know, I'll tell him it's 'paper engineering'.

Hilariously funny! Tell your hubby he's awesome!

Typically male! And like you said, very creative. Whomever is slamming your post--Alesha did post a warning, you didn't have to view it. And you probably only think it is disgusting because you think it is funny and don't want to admit it! It is YOUR blog Alesha, noting illegal has been posted. Keep it up!

I LOVE how creative J is... that took some serious effort and is HILARIOUS. Vince would approve.

Hysterical! I hadn't seen the commercial, but it's still hystrical! I agree that any red blooded male would be thinking that when he hears that line. Most men under 30 laugh at a fart as well. In addition, sexual innuendo between a husband and wife is far from disgusting. I believe it is a sign of a healthy marriage!

LOL...this is the type of card (and humor) one can expect when the males are left alone in the stamp room. :-) A couple of years ago, my now ex-BF made a card using a stamp of a kitty pooping in a litterbox (even added stink swirls). The front said Just for You...and inside [he used Curvy Verses]...a little something wrapped in a whole lotta love. By the way, my fiance and I giggle when Vince refers to his nuts in the slap chop infomerical too.

Ha! Thanks for linking the spoofs too... I got a few laughs out of this post. Great card engineering too--I'm impressed!

Oh my, that is so funny! I am amazed that he actually made a pop-up card. Good for him! Not a card I would show to my grandkids, but hey, he is your husband so enjoy the joke. Thanks for sharing!

I think the card is hilarious and kudos to your husband for actually making you a card. Mine is supportive of my craft but would never make me a card.

Heidi said...

Oh now that is very very creative and that the two of you can share in this (he knew you would love it!) is awesome. I wouldn't care what others think, they probably won't read your blog but hey, look at all of us checking it out! Actually, those that made mean comments are probably coming BACK to see what everyone else says about them- so you know what that means,..... they are looking at the card again. ok, LMAO now......... giggling.

The card is Fabulous and I applaud your Husband for making you a card from the heart instead of Walgreens or a grocery store. Too funny, can't wait to show it to my Husband. Tell Hubby to keep them coming.

Thank you both for your generosity in sharing that! OMG I don't know when I've laughed so much. You guys are awesome. You totally could have kept that giggle just between the two of you but instead shared it and gave loads of us a giggle to share with our own partner.
I think you have given my DH scary cardmaking ideas of his own...oh help!

Hilarious! I feel sad for the poster who was embarrassed and disgusted by this thoughtful, clever show of affection by your husband. The time he spent!! If they are unable to see the humor in it, how constrained must their own relationships be. Kind of hypocritical to peek at something you were warned wasn't for kids and then make an ugly comment. Take a little personal responsibility for lacking the willpower NOT to look at something you knew was going to be off color.

Without a sense of humor, life is very dull. Good job, husband.

So does the slapchop actually work??

Ashley - the slap chop ROCKS! I can't even tell you how much we use it. It's basically always in the sink being dried because we are using and washing it so often. I love it!
